The Unborn Savior
What happens, when the greatest weapon against the darkness is lost? Even further, it sides with the very force it once defended against.
This is a story just like that, kinda like a cliche Bollywood movie. And to that add a grander level, a cosmic level.
So here goes the same old plot: there’s a great man, with a great world he built around himself. And then there’s an evil man hellbent on molding the world in his spitting image. So goes on the fight, generation after generation.
As the Ninth Avatar of Vishnu, Krishna died, which presented the demon Kali, Tenth of the line of the Rakshasa clan an opportunity to corrupt the minds and hearts of men and plunge the World into an age of heinous crimes and darkness. And so his reign began, So began the Kalyug!
Though unparalleled and unopposed in the World of his own image, still something kept gnawing at him. The prophecy that he decoded, but only partially made him worried. The Prophecy talked about the next in line of Vishnu’s Bloodline, someone by the name, Kalki. Kalki, a demigod so powerful that once he turned 16 would have the power to wipe out forces of Corruption. The prophecy made him aware of the name, but not the location and time of the heir’s birth, nor did it reveal the identity of his parents.
Though invincible, Kali was not omnipresent. So he planted spies around the world. Nothing that happened anywhere on Earth, happened without Kali’s knowledge or against his pleasure. Still, no knowledge not even a murmur about Kalki.
Location: somewhere hidden in the womb of Great Kailash...
Kailash, the abode of the Adi Yogi. Now home to his clan, the Shaiviks, had a whole network of caves hidden from the outer world that could easily sustain the 100 Shaiviks and the Couple( the parents of unborn Kalki) they were tasked to protect with their lives. The only contact they ever made with the outside world was to get food supplies without ever letting anyone follow their tracks. However, nothing was stealthy enough to be hidden for long from the network of spies Kali had put in place. Having a gut feeling that this location may have been the hidden place where Kalki would take birth, Kali decided to infiltrate the hidden stronghold.
The next time the Shiavik went out to gather supplies, Kali through his psychic abilities gained hold of their consciousness. Using them, Kali gained access to the hidden cave networks and locations where the parents of the unborn savior were kept protected. He planned to kill the mother of the unborn savior, but he underestimated the descendants of Adi Yogi. The leader of the Shaiviks, Shiven sensed the malevolent presence in their Consecrated Abode and through his psychic abilities realized that the mind of his clan members have been corrupted by the demon king Kali. Shiven quickly escorted the Couple to another secret location that only he knew of.
After making sure the Couple was safe, Shiven confronted the forces of Kali. The battle was fierce, with huge blood spilled on both sides. A sudden blow to the head knocked Shiven out. It was only after hours that he regained consciousness. What he saw broke his heart and spirit. All of his clan members were brutally murdered and he was standing there, all alone. As he wept on and on, he heard the dying words of one of his brother “He knows of the secret location. Hurry, or he’ll kill our only Hope.” But how can he know about that?, Shiven thought with his foggy head.
Shiven desperately and hastily went to the secret location. As he entered the secret safe house, he saw the Couple safe and sound which made Shiven breathe a sigh of relief. As the father of the unborn savior came to greet Shiven, he swiftly beheaded the Father with his sword. The sight of horror left the mother unconscious. Shiven couldn’t believe what just happened. He could observe what was happening but couldn't control his own body. Unable to control his body, he moved forward and dug the Trident in the Mother’s heart, all the while screaming and weeping and trying to stop his hands from doing such a heinous crime against the same people he was to protect with his life. As he looked into the mirror, he saw his eyes turn blood red. And so appeared Kali in the reflection.
Kali, in his arrogant voice, laughed and said “Fool, you led me straight to them. In the face of utter desperation, not even once you considered that maybe you yourself were under my mind control. Using my powers I manipulated you into thinking that I knew about the safe house. And now, thanks to you, I have changed the course of Future by ending the Prophecy. I don’t have to fear anyone now. This Reign of Mine will be ENDLESS!!”
“Yes, I can kill you but no, I won’t. After all, the secret clan of yours caused me centuries of unease. I will leave you to pity your now worthless life.”
All Shiven could now do was try to grasp the series of events that had just happened
